The Surprising Visitor.

Some years back ago a young man has walked into Children's Library named after A. Gaidar and has presented books to it. The mecenat was accepted with a joyful surprise: what gifts can be in our times? The visitor really has appeared to be an interesting person. Each year he comes into Library named after Gaidar and brings new books. This year Boris Gennadievich Galenkov has brought from Russia the works of his favourite authors: Vladislav Krapivin and Sergey Lukyanenko. After friendly tea-party, arranged in honour of the visitor, I managed to to talk to him.

Boris Gennadievich, tell us, in what city do such wonderful people as you live?

The good people are everywhere, and I have arrived from Dserzhinskiy (Novgorod area). Its population is hardly more than 300 thousand, almost as Sevastopols. There I work as the trainer - teacher in club "Bend", I am engaged in automotosport.

You train children?
I have two diplomas of the highest educations: "automobile" and pedagogical. Then I have worked for six years at school, was a pioneer-leader. Now at me are engaged about 30 guys from 10 to 17 years old, we arrange races on carts, buggies, motorcycles, bicycles, go hiking. Our club has appeared on September 27, 1997, and engineering I began to collect more than 15 years ago. Now еhere are very little such clubs as "Bend". There is no financing. Only one cart costs about 600 $. We survive at the expense of the friends of the club, the senior guys, parents help. But, certainly, any member payments are not present, training is free-of-charge.
Automotosport is your life?
Not only. My life is adventure. I want to infect the guys with the enthusiasmes. We go in multikilometer hikes on ski, till 1995 I came each summer to Crimea with 10-15 guys (now tickets have risen in price and it has became more complex), we dive with aqualungs, we participate in different competitions, not only on motor-sports. This year three of my students and me have arrived to Crimea. We already have visited many cities, have met our friends - sailing flotilla "Caravella". But most of all we liked Sevastopol. It is a special city, here there is no this unnecessary idleness, the people are engaged in business. Glory, pride, greatness - that is what Sevastopol.
And how you became a friend of library?
Completely casually. There is a favourite writer of mine - Vladislav Krapivin (by the way, he is the commander of the flotilla "Caravella"). Some years back ago I was walking the Ushakov-square and has seen tables near the library with the books, and the woman was sitting at the table, I have asked something, she has answered … Then has appeared an opportunity to present the books of Vladislav Krapivin, issued in Nizhni Novgorod to the library. Besides I brought audiocassets with music of my friend Dmitrii Gerasivmov. And this year I have brought 20 books of Vladislav Krapivin, issued in Moscow, three from them with the author's signature.
Why this author?
I have been reading him since childhood, since 12 years old. He writes wonderful stories. The acquaintance with Krapivin was my dream since school years, and absolutely recently I managed to execute it I have got acquainted with the favourite writer …

I looked at this man with admiration. Imperceptible, usual with his looks, but what a surprising person actually! I was struck with his modesty. Boris Gennadievich could tell, that in 2000 has occupied the first place in competition "I give heart to children", could brag of achievement of club, known in Nizhni Novgorod, "Bend", but he spoke about his students, about Crimea, about the literature.

We looked through photos and conversed with Boris Gennadievich about life for a long time still. And all this time the feeling of unreality of occuring pursued me. It seemed, this man himself has come from the adventure book to prove to all world the true: the desires are executed not only in fairy tales!
